As indicated in a Cal Fire incident report, the Gains Fire of Mariposa County, CA, is now 95% contained. The fire has burned through 1300 acres of land near Mt Gaines Road, Bear Valley Road, and Bear Valley California. The fire started at around 1:00 p.m. last Friday. As of right now, Cal Fire is investigating the cause of the fire.
According to Cal Fire, there were over twenty structures that were threatened by the Gaines Fire. Cal Fire also closed several roads near the blaze. In light of those facts, an evacuation advisory warning was issued to people in the vicinity of the fire. However, the evacuation advisory and road closures were lifted as of 10:30 p.m. Monday. Yet, motorists are still being encouraged to slow down and drive cautiously around the fire site.
Currently, there is around 450 personnel working the fire with 30 engines, 5 water tenders, and one dozer and helicopter.
