According to a report by Lake County News, the residents near Dam Road in Clearlake, California, were evacuated on Saturday July 27 due to a sudden wildfire. The fire started near the Clearlake Walmart. The initial estimate for the size of the fire was 2-3 acres in size, with lots of dry brush for fuel and strong eastward wind.
However, the fire seems to be contained (nothing official yet) and the evacuation order has been lifted for the area. Incident command said that forward progress of the fire stopped by about 6:40 pm on Sunday. Fighting the fire was a joint effort between CalFire and Lake County Fire.
According to a witness report, the firefighters are looking for a male suspect that may have been responsible for the fire. However, as of right now, no one knows what started the blaze.
